Enjoy Atlanta Dinner Theatre


Dinner and a show at one of Atlanta's dinner theatres is a popular way to spend an evening. Several types of shows are available. Patrons can choose from comedy, mystery, or Shakespeare productions, and even a medieval jousting fest. Check out these options for your evening entertainment.

Agatha's- A Taste of Mystery

Audiences love participating in the comic murder mysteries at Agatha's. The current show, "Lights! Camera! Zombies!" will run through November 7, 2012. Directors Woody and Quentin Scarentino are in town to film "The Zombie Games" when a group of real zombies show up on the set. The show is great fun for Halloween.

"Have a Holly Jolly Murder" will open just in time for the holidays. Will the kids still get their presents if Santa and Mrs. Claus are caught up in a North Pole murder investigation? The show will run November 8-January 9, 2013.

Shows are scheduled Tuesday-Sunday. Prices are $65 per person for Sunday-Friday and $68.50 on Saturday. December shows are $70. Dinners include a 5-course meal, coffee, tea, and complimentary glass of wine. A full cash bar is available. Shows are not recommended for children under age 7. Agatha's is located at 161 Peachtree Center Avenue in downtown Atlanta. Parking is available in the adjacent parking garage.

New American Shakespeare Tavern

Enjoy an authentic British pub menu while watching the show. "Titus Andronicus," Shakespeare's first tragedy, will begin November 1, 2012. Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" starts November 29. "The Tempest" is scheduled for January 3, 2013. Patrons may purchase food and beverages separately before the show and dessert during the intermission. Tickets for the shows vary by night and seating level. Shows begin at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and 6:30pm on Sundays. The tavern is located at 449 Peachtree Street NE. Recommended parking is across the street in the Emory University Hospital Midtown Parking Deck.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

This show is fun for the whole family. Witness an epic jousting tournament fit for medieval royalty. Enjoy the horsemanship of the majestic Spanish stallions, and watch the falconer perform wonders with his birds of prey. The royal feast includes soup, roasted chicken, spare rib, potato, bread, dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage. Vegetarian meals are available. Prices are $51.95 for adults and $35.95 for ages 12 and under. Medieval Times is located in Discover Mills mall, at 5900 Sugarloaf Pkwy in Lawrenceville.
